My Friend Della forwarded this to me after reading my blog and I thought it would be interesting for everyone to see the actual damage from the Tsunami.

I found it very interesting comparing the 2010 photos with those of 1946. I was surprised how much more open space and park lands are in the 2010 views than in 1946. I would have thought just the opposite.

    • Hey Kevin, Good to hear from you. The reason that you see so much open space now is they realized that it would not be safe to once again build so close to the ocean. So they made much of it into parks. If you were to see these places you would see just how close to the ocean it is and we have had smaller tsunamis since then that have come close to those areas.
